Get to know the surroundings of the South Tyroean restaurant APOLLONIA!

Saint Apollonia Chapel

This little mountain-top sanctuary sits on a forested porphyry hill at 950 meters sea level. The sacral art-building of the 13th century AD captivates the eye because of its simple but at the same time powerful and compact architecture.
From here you have a 360° view, including a large part of the Italian Dolomites, (e.g. Sella, Sasso Lungo, Sciliar, Latemar, etc.) and the rest of the Mendola crest to the Palade pass and Laugen, the Tisner Gall, the Texel-group, Hirzer, Ifinger und last but not least the Tschöggelberg.

Playground

restaurant APOLLONIA has its own little playground next to the restaurant with swings, sea-saws, a slide and a roundabout. After your meal you can relax and enjoy the scenery and the children can go out and have fun.

Flora & Fauna

restaurant APOLLONIA also has a small mountain-farming with sheep, dwarf goats, cats and rabbits. Some of them can be stroked, held or fed. An adventure not only for children, but also for adults!

Saint Jacob in Grissiano

Take a 45 minute walk from the restaurant APOLLONIA to the Romanic mountain-top chapel Saint Jacob in Grissiano. A chapel worth seeing from the 11th century AD, known for its interesting frescos. Among these frescos the oldest known image of the Dolomites can be found.

Gaido

Walk to Gaido from the restaurant APOLLONIA, to a small hamlet above Andriano.
Cross 2 canyons that give you an insight into the geology of a time, in which the low mountain range along the Mendola crest was still below sea level.
Approximately 1 hour from Apollonia.
